How to Get There


From Windhoek:


By Car: The drive from Windhoek to the Namib Desert takes approximately 4-5 hours, depending on your exact destination within the desert. Renting a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for navigating the sandy terrain.


By Air: Charter flights are available from Windhoek to various airstrips in the Namib Desert, such as Sossusvlei. The flight duration is around 1 hour.


Where to Go and What to See


Sossusvlei


Sossusvlei is one of the most iconic destinations in the Namib Desert, known for its striking red dunes and the famous Deadvlei clay pan. The dunes here are some of the highest in the world, with "Big Daddy" standing at around 325 meters.
