Matterhorn is the most famous peak in the Alps, located on the border between Switzerland and Italy, near the small town of Zermatt in the Swiss canton of Valais and the small town of Brey-Chervinia in the Valley of Ostas in Italy.

The name of Matterhorn is made up of the German word "Matt"(meaning valley, grass) and "horn" (meaning the mountain is tapered like a horn).
