To boost tourism appeal, Saudi Arabia plans to build a large airport in the capital Riyadh, which it says will be one of the largest in the world.

According to New Zealand's "stuff. co. NZ" website, the new airport will be expanded on the basis of the existing terminal of Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport. After the expansion, the airport will cover an area of about 57 square kilometers with six parallel runways and will be renamed King Salman International Airport.

According to the plan, the new airport will be able to handle 120 million passengers by 2030 and 185 million passengers by 2050.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the design of the new airport will showcase Saudi culture and provide tourists with a unique travel experience. In addition, the airport design will also reflect the "Green Saudi" initiative, using renewable energy to power airport operations.

According to the report, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman said that by vigorously developing tourism, the country's economy should get rid of the situation of relying solely on oil and achieve diversified development.
