In order to inject vitality into the local area, the ancient Italian town spared no effort to invest 30,000 euros to attract the foreign population to settle down.

According to a CNN report, in recent years, some ancient towns in Italy have fallen into the plight of sparsely populated people. The number of newborns is decreasing year by year, the resident population is decreasing, and many properties are vacant and abandoned.

In order to attract more new residents, these Italian towns have come up with various methods. Located in the small town of Presicce in southern Italy, it plans to provide each home buyer with a subsidy of 30,000 euros.

On the map of Italy that resembles a boot, Presicce is located exactly at the "heel". The climate there is warm, sunny, and picturesque. In 2019, the town of Presicce merged with a neighboring municipality to create the larger town of Presicce-Aquarica.

Currently, the new town has a total of 9,000 residents, but only half live in the old town. According to local officials, after the merger of the two towns, they have more public funds and can spend 1 million euros a year to revitalize the old city. In order to attract people to settle in Presicce and buy local real estate, they decided to take the most direct "cash incentive" method.

As long as you are willing to come to Presicce, the town provides a settlement allowance of up to 30,000 euros. If calculated according to the local housing price, which is 500 euros per square meter, a 50-square-meter house costs only 25,000 euros, which is equivalent to a "free gift" for some old houses.

The history of this small town dates back to the Middle Ages, and the area was once famous for producing high-quality olives. Today, the town still retains ancient squares, Baroque palaces, and dense olive processing factories.

It can be seen that the small town of Presicce has abundant tourism resources, but what it lacks in popularity.

Many old houses in the old city have long been abandoned by their owners and have been vacant for a long time. Instead of being abandoned, it is better to reuse them. "It's a pity that the beautiful old town is sparsely populated." Presicce Town Councilor Alfredo Pales said, "We hope that the arrival of new residents will make the vacant houses full of life again."

However, the town also has requirements for applicants, and the 30,000 euro settlement subsidy can only be used to purchase local real estate and house decoration. There are also tax incentives to stimulate business and childcare subsidies for families with children.

This is an elegant and quiet town with a typical Mediterranean climate, mild winters, and scorching summers.

Medieval olive oil processing workshops are preserved locally. Standing here, you can imagine how people used to process and make olive oil in such a place.

You can also visit the Agricultural Museum in the town. The museum displays early local agricultural, economic, and life-related items and collections to reproduce the simple way of life of the people at that time.

In addition to the town of Presicce, there are many other beautiful towns in Italy. Italy is a big tourist country, so far it has 58 world heritage sites, including 5 natural heritage sites and 53 cultural heritage sites, ranking first in the number of world heritage sites. More than 60 million tourists visit here every year.
