Lilacs are a kind of small trees and one of the most popular flowers planted in the courtyard. Lilacs are not only beautiful, but also have a faint fragrance. People always like to plant them at home for viewing. So how should lilacs be planted?

Lilacs have certain drought resistance. It doesn't need to water them too often. It's OK to water them when you find the soil is dry. When watering, control the amount of water, and pour it thoroughly each time, so that the root system at the bottom can also absorb water, but there cannot be ponding. In case of continuous rainy days, drainage work shall be done to avoid rotten roots.

Lilacs like light. They must be placed in a well-lit environment and let them receive more light. They will grow vigorously and blossom better if they have enough light. If they are planted in the ground, the plot with good light should be selected for cultivation. If you plant them in pots, you must put them in a good place where sun shines in.

The suitable temperature for lilac to grow is between 15 and 25 degrees. They have high requirements for temperature. They can't stand high temperature or cold. Therefore, in summer and winter, temperature should be controlled strictly, especially for potted plants. Place them in a well-ventilated place in summer. In winter, warm keeping measures should be taken. It is best to control the temperature above 5 degrees to avoid being frozen.

If you want lilacs to grow and bloom better, you should topdressing in time during the peak growth season. Just choose compound fertilizer. Fertilization and watering are carried out at the same time, so that they can absorb nutrients better and faster. Lilacs don’t have high requirements for soil and are resistant to barrenness. They can grow normally in general soil environment. However, we must pay attention not to use the soil with too heavy acidity, otherwise it is easy for them to have poor growth.
